Anchorage Market

Fresh produce, exotic goods, local goods, souvenirs – the choice of vendors is never-ending! Free entertainment, food and fun for a place to spend the weekend!

Location: Peratrovich Park

Music for Little Ones this summer will include StoryTRACKS that allow families the opportunity to explore reading through fun, interactive placemaking. These stories and interactions encourage children’s verbal development: Talk, Respond, Ask questions, Connect, Keep at it, Sing and tell stories.


Public Lands Walking Tour

Recurring daily

Time: 3:15 pm

Location: Alaska Public Lands Information Center

A free public lands walking tour with a National Park Service ranger that takes your through downtown Anchorage where they will talk about the special culture in Alaska, the unique animals and a history of Alaskan soil. It is about 45 minutes long and completely outside and leave from the steps of the Alaska Public Lands Information Center. Be a tourist in your own city!


Yoga Blend Thursday

Dates: May 31-August 23

Recurring weekly on Thursday and Friday

Times: Thursday 12:10-12:50 pm, Friday 6-7:30 am

Location: 5th & B Parking Garage Rooftop

Yoga on the rooftop all summer long for free or a $5 donation! Bring your own mat and come practice restorative flow and some longer yin yoga holds – something new each time! May cancel in wet weather.


The AK Flyway

Date: June 7

Time: 6-8 pm

Location: Campbell Creek Science Center

A festive evening to celebrate the return of summer and Alaska’s migratory birds! It will feature their new bird migration exhibit: The AK Flyway and will include a guided bird walk, scavenger hunts for the kids and more information on birding apps like eBird.


Three Barons Renaissance Fair

Date: June 1-June 8

Time: 12 pm-8 pm

Admission: $5-$8

Location: Tozier Track, Tudor Road

Come and enter the Real, of the Three Barons! Listen to the tales of adventure as they come to life on stage throughout the day along with many other themed festivities.


Re:MADE Markets

Date: June 8-September 14

Time: 10 am-4 pm

Location: Anchorage reMADE

Anchorage re:MADE is a non-profit organization that offers this unique, eco-friendly shopping experience that features local artists, up-cycled creations, flea market finds and food by Gathering AK Cafe.


Slam’n Salm’n Derby

Date: June 14-23

Location: Ship Creek

Ship Creek is an urban fishing spot running through downtown Anchorage that is the home to king and silver salmon. Locals and visitors can drop a line into the creek hoping to hook a king salmon in order to win the cash prize. All donations will go towards the Downtown Soup Kitchen.


Aloha in Alaska Music Festival

Date: June 15

Time: 2 pm

Location: Tikahtnu Commons Mall, Fronting Lei’s Poke Stop

Anchorage’s 4th annual Hawaiin Music Festival! Music will be provided by a group called Maoli from Maui, Tenelle and Alaska’s favorite Island Reggae band H3. There will also be food booths, island craft and clothes vendors and so much more fun for community to escape and pretend they are on a beach vacation!


Salsa in the Park

Date: June 9-August 11

Time: 1-3 pm

Location: Town Square Park

Free and family-friendly, join Anaya Latin Dance and local dancers to learn and have fun social dancing to Latin music! It is a great and interactive community event that you can participate in or just come to watch and enjoy being downtown Anchorage!


Downtown Summer Solstice Festival and Hero Games

Date: June 22

Time: 12 pm-6 pm

Location: Fourth Avenue and Town Square

This free festival has live music, kids games, outdoor activities and demonstrations – a great way to celebrate the start of summer! The Hero Games take place on 4th Avenue between 6 and 7th Ave from noon to 4 pm. It is a friendly competition against Alaska’s first responders featuring U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, Air and Army National Guards, Anchorage Fire Department and Anchorage Police Department. Each team competes in this race through various obstacles (human foosball, donut eating contest, scooter races and more!). Come and enjoy the fun and see how Anchorage celebrates the start of summer!
