Spring is arriving! Get outside and join in on these fun community events around Anchorage!

 

Keller Williams

Date: March 8-9

Times: 10 p.m.

Admission: $20

Location: The Sitzmark Bar & Grill

Keller Williams may be the name of our real estate franchise, but it is also the name of an American musician who plays different elements of bluegrass, folk, reggae, jazz and funk. He is known to be a ‘one-man jam-band’ because he uses so many instruments! Could be a great way to start your weekend with friends!

 

Empty Bowl Project

Date: March 9

Time: 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Admission: $15-$20

Location: Dena’ina Convention Center

The 25th Annual Empty Bowl Project looks to raise money and awareness to hunger issues in our home of Anchorage. It is the largest fundraiser for Bean’s Cafe and The Children’s Lunchbox – places that need support in order to keep their doors open 365 days a year so no one goes hungry. It is a unique event where attendees are offered unlimited soup, cornbread and beverages and get to take home a bowl of their choice (made by local artists) to raise money…the goal is to reach more than $100,000 this year so come out and support the community!

 

Junior Cross Country Nationals

Dates: March 9-16

Location: Kincaid Park

Come watch history being made as the best in the nation travel to Anchorage to compete on the trails of our Kincaid Park!

 

ASAA State Basketball Tournaments

Dates: March 13-23

Location: Alaska Airlines Center

Come support Alaska’s best boys and girls high school basketball teams working to win a championship at the ASAA March Madness! 1A and 2A compete March 13-16 and 3A and 4A teams compete March 21-23. For specific tournament information visit www.ASAA.org!

 

Shamrock Shuffle

Date: March 16

Time: 9:30 a.m.

Location: Bear Tooth Theatrepub

It’s the 8th Annual Shamrock Shuffle! Put on all your green clothing and join in on the race with friends and family to get excited for spring!

 

Family Ski Day

Date: March 24

Location: Russian Jack Park

Free admission to join the recreation staff for a day of skiing for the whole family! Instructors will be there to help teach the basics so it’s a great day for beginners to get out there and practice!
