The Arc of Anchorage is a not-for-profit organization that serves children and adults with mental health issues and developmental disabilities. They strive to help these individuals find full, satisfying lives with dignity and a purpose. This program provides services such as teaching work skills, providing a place to be, to interact with others and ensuring that those who have disabilities are granted the same opportunities as any American citizen. This program even offers a free of charge at home pickup! Click here to sign up for the pick up. If you would like to donate in person, visit their website to find the closest drop off center near you!

American Red Cross

Website: https://www.redcross.org/local/alaska.html

When donating to Red Cross, your items will be sold to a thrift store, but Red Cross receives a percentage of the proceeds. After the scary earthquake that hit Alaska several months ago, donating and giving back to a disaster relief organization can really hit close to home.
