Did you take our advice and clean out your closet? Amazing! Here are places you can take your bag full of donation clothes to, here in Anchorage and surrounding areas.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska
600 W 41st Ave Ste 101, Anchorage, AK 99503
This program provides mentors and guardians to children facing adversity for support and motivation to achieve a life for the better. This support varies from educational success, staying out of trouble and achieving high aspirations and a build for better confidence. By donating your clothes here, you are helping over 2,000 children across Alaska!
The Arc of Anchorage
The Arc of Anchorage is a not-for-profit organization that serves children and adults with mental health issues and developmental disabilities. They strive to help these individuals find full, satisfying lives with dignity and a purpose. This program provides services such as teaching work skills, providing a place to be, to interact with others and ensuring that those who have disabilities are granted the same opportunities as any American citizen. This program even offers a free of charge at home pickup! Click here to sign up for the pick up. If you would like to donate in person, visit their website to find the closest drop off center near you!
American Red Cross
When donating to Red Cross, your items will be sold to a thrift store, but Red Cross receives a percentage of the proceeds. After the scary earthquake that hit Alaska several months ago, donating and giving back to a disaster relief organization can really hit close to home.

It is a place of love and support when needed most. Right now, they are really looking for winter gear – chapstick, sweatpants, socks, jackets, gloves, baby products, etc. Donations can be dropped off at their Youth Engagement Center (address above) Monday through Sunday, 9am-9pm.
